Deli Home acquires insect screen specialist bash-tec

Europe's digital carpenter strengthens international presence with an innovative insect screen specialist in Germany

Deli Home, a Dutch made-to-measure manufacturer and distributor of high-quality timber-based home improvement products such as doors, storage and floors with more than 1,250 employees, is pleased to announce that it completed the acquisition of bash-tec GmbH (bash-tec). With the acquisition of bash-tec, Deli Home underlines its focus on further expanding its international presence. bash-tec will provide Deli Home with the platform to offer a large range of made-to-measure insect screen products for doors and windows. In addition, bash-tec and Deli Home strongly believe that both companies will benefit from each other’s complementary product development capabilities to further develop new solutions for their clients. bash-tec, located in Burbach-Holzhausen (Germany), is active in the insect screen market in the DACH-region and the Netherlands, as well as some other European countries. Deli Home markets its products via a combination of do-it-yourself retailers, builders’ merchants and online markets.

Victor Aquina, CEO Deli Home: “We are proud to welcome bash-tec to the Deli Home group. bash-tec has a strong position in the German market and is known for its qualities as developer of insect screen products and related components. bash-tec and Deli Home will work closely together to capitalise on each other's strengths, to act together to serve existing customers even better and to enter new markets. We look forward to working with bash-tec and its employees to further grow the company in the coming years and to build together a leading European insect screen specialist.”

Arnd Büdenbender, Managing Director of bash-tec: "We are one of the most innovative and fastest growing companies in the field of mesh and insect protection products in Europe. We were looking for a strategic and competent partner to use our entire development power for the marketing of the products in Europe. We are pleased to have found this partner in Deli Home. I would like to thank everyone who accompanied us on this journey and who helped develop bash-tec to the excellent market position it holds today. We continue to have significant potential for growth, which we will realise together with Deli Home.”

Following the acquisition, Arnd Büdenbender will continue in his current role as Managing Director of bash-tec.

Based in Burbach-Holzhausen, Germany, bash-tec has been developing, assembling and packaging insect screens and components for insect screens for over 20 years. Next to its facilities in Germany, the company has a packaging and warehousing site in Widawa, Poland. In addition, bash-tec is also the exclusive European distributor of Adfors' high-quality mesh. Among bash-tec’s customers are wholesalers, DIY retailers and European manufacturers of insect screens. The company employs about 60 people.

The transaction was supported by Deli Home’s shareholder Ardian, a world-leading private investment house with assets of US$140bn managed or advised in Europe.
